How signing with Smart-ID works

Three steps. Upload the document to Allkiro — PDF, Word, Excel or an image. Add the signer by email. The signer gets a notification, opens the link and confirms with PIN2 in the Smart-ID app. The finished container is ready to download straight away. Nothing to install: it all runs in the browser.

Is a Smart-ID signature legally binding

Yes. A signature given with Smart-ID is a qualified electronic signature (QES) under the eIDAS Regulation and is equal to a handwritten signature across the European Union. It holds for employment contracts, leases, sales agreements and service contracts. Validity can be checked outside Allkiro as well — in the DigiDoc4 client, or with the European Commission's DSS validator.

Smart-ID, Smart-ID+, Mobile-ID or ID card

Allkiro supports all four. Smart-ID works without a SIM card and is the most widely used method in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Smart-ID+ is the newer generation — no personal code to type, the connection runs over a QR code or app-to-app. Mobile-ID uses the phone's SIM card. ID-card signing goes through Web eID and needs a card reader. The signer picks whatever they have to hand.

Several signers, in parallel or in order

In a parallel workflow everyone is invited at once. In a sequential one the next signer is invited only after the previous signature lands. You set the order when sending and can change it later. Every signing round can carry a deadline; from the Standard plan up, reminders go out on their own.

No. The signer gets a link by email and signs without creating an account. Only the person sending the document needs one.

You can cancel the process until every party has signed. A signature already given cannot be removed — in that case you create a new version and send it again.

Three signatures a month on the free plan, no card needed. Then Mini with 6, Standard with 20, Pro with 30 and Enterprise with no limit.
